This past Sunday I had a really great turnout for a book signing hosted by Willow Cottage in downtown Grapevine. The owner Kathy Diamond, really went all out to host this event, and I’m very thankful.
I was pleasantly surprised to walk into store to find a beautiful display of strawberries and Rice Krispy treats, among other yummy things, ready to be dipped into this amazing chocolate fountain. The family that owns Bermuda Gold just a few doors down on Main Street, is also hosting this sinful table of treats at many local events.
Across from the chocolate table another edible display of fresh-from-the-oven gourmet cupcakes! My true weakness. The fabulous baker? Her name is Tonya Wilkinson. She is a mother of two, and owner of Crumbles Cupcakes. You have to stop by and taste her wonderful creations.
So the kids and adults there to attend my reading and signing, all got to sample a smorgasbord of cupcakes and chocolate dipped everything yummy. I apologize to all the parents now for the guaranteed sugar rush they had to deal with the rest of the afternoon!
A big thank you to everyone that took time out of their busy Sunday to come and share Katie’s story and thank you Grapevine for the mention in the Grapevine Sun and www.ilovegrapevinetexas.com .
My next signing is actually a full-fledged book tour.
Beginning Thursday April 1st – Saturday April 4th, I’ll be doing the media and bookstore circuit in San Antonio and Austin. For more info just check out my events calendar right on this sight for details, or just log onto www.katieandthemagicumbrella.com .
If you know someone who lives in the Austin or San Antonio area who you think would really love the book and sharing it with any young child would is petrified or fascinated by storms, please spread the word!
Sunshine!
