I’m so thankful for all the calls and emails from viewers and friends since it was announced I was leaving CBS11. The past few days have been a blur.

It’s difficult leaving a career I’ve spent 20 years building…no matter what the circumstances. So I hope you’ll keep the comments coming. They soften this landing and remind me that all the time and sacrifice was worth it and the time spent away from my family.

I must say….that I find it very disappointing that the station, just a day after my departure has already removed any sign that I existed. There was a nice little place at the top of the homepage on Friday (my last day) where viewers could make a quick comment regarding my departure. I thought that was such a nice gesture and it was wonderful getting a chance to read them as they flowed in following the announcement.

But when I checked the site  Saturday morning…NOTHING.

I have my thoughts on this..but I’d love to hear yours

Kristine

It is too bad that your bio has already been removed as well. But if you click on the Storm Team/Weather blog on cbs11tv.com there is still a place to leave you a note and read the previous entries.

It still upsets me when I think that you are no longer on the air. Good luck to you!

Kristine, I must have been out of town when you departed Channel 11!! I also read Uncle Barkey occasionally and try to keep up with where my favorites have gone since the proverbial “axe” was swung their way. I wanted to tell you that you have been one of my favorites for many years now. I remember you well at Channel 8 and was prayerfully watching as your family lived thru the tragedy of losing a child. Then watched you flourish at Channel 11 for many years, only to be saddened when you were obviously being squeezed out of the picture. Boy, it’s a cut-throat business out there in the medialand! But you could probably write your OWN book on that subject! I have so appreciated you in many ways, but one of the most important things you’ve done is stand up for your belief in God and answered prayer. Life’s struggles bring me closer to God and I will never understand how people face the storms of life without Him. What a frightening thought to me! Makes me thankful in one breath that I have been privileged to know Him, but sad in the next breath for those who don’t. Thank you for being an inspiration to millions of us. God bless you in all your decisions. I have grown children and I always tell them to trust the Lord because only He can see the “big picture” while we see only a small portion at a time. Warm regards!! Janie (Midlothian – an Aggie family!)

It is so wrong that the stations “remove” all evidence that any of their personalities were ever there! Channel 5 totally removed all references to Rebecca Miller and now Channel 11 has removed you as well! Why would anyone want to alter the history of a station’s on-air personalities throughout the years, especially those who have been so appreciated and voted the best meteorologist in the Metroplex!

Good luck and I hope that your new endeavors are extremely successful – you are a tremendous person.

Stealing a line from Woodrow in Lonesome Dove, I have just gone through “rude behavior” with an employer of nine years. It is inconceivable how a professional organization can simply make you disappear at their whim. And it appears the more public you are, the more paranoid they are about wanting to make it a flash cut.
I suspect a lot of it is due to the exaggerated influnence the legal system imposes on our lives today, and it is so convenient to totally disrepect an individual in order to CYA.
However, I have discovered no one can really disrepect you as a person unless you allow them. I truly believe you and I are better off not having to deal with those who really don’t deserve our respect. Best wishes on your book, and grin to yourself when you reflect how fortunate you are to be free from the small-minded people.

I was shocked to hear that you will no longer be with with CBS 11. You will be missed.

We moved to Texas a little over 4 years ago. We watched all the stations to see which one would be “ours” to watch every night. Well, CBS 11 easily became that one. The reason was because of you, Tracy and Karen. We loved all 3 of you guys together. (We started to feel at home after moving so far away and missing our other states newscast people.)

Then Tracy retired (we miss him and his sense of humor). Now you. We will miss your class, your sweetness, your honesty and your grace. I think you are first class.

I wish they did a contribute to you, kinda like what they did at Fox 4 for Megan Henderson. I think that would of been a hoot to see. CBS’s loss and our loss. They should of done that.

We are planning someday soon to move back to Calif. We will be able to see Megan at KTLA but we will miss you. Take care and good luck in your new adventures. I wish you the best.
